SPECTRE has hijacked two atomic bombs from NATO and threatens to destroy an important city in the US or England unless their ransom demand is met. James Bond has only four days to thwart SPECTRE mastermind Emilio Largo and prevent a nuclear holocaust.
Thunderball was the most successful 60s Bond movie, but I have a feeling it was because Goldfinger was so good. Having said that, Thunderball is still decent, if over-long. And I could do without the dumb underwater fight at the end. The women in this are top-notch beautiful, but Largo, the villian, is kinda not-cool. Sean Connery does an excellent job (as usual) as Bond, and it's a neat surprise to see the Astin Martin from Goldfinger make a return. It feels like this movie starts right where the previous one left off!
