No Way Out was my first real band. Every year at Robinson Secondary there is a talent competition called "Variety Show" and a battle-of-the-bands called "Ram Jam." For one of these during my Junior year in High School, a ska band was formed called "The Boys of Skabinson." One of the members was Matt Chwat. When I became a senior, Chwat took the members that did not graduate (Alan Thompson, Chris Jackson and I think Mike Smith) and started a new ska band called No Way Out. The lineup needed a bassist so Matt asked if I wanted to join. I said sure, but during the first or second practice, i picked up guitar and Jim Lunsford (playing trumpet) picked up my bass. We gigged around, had lots of fun, played "Bond," came in second place at Ram Jam '99 and even recorded a CD in a real studio! Click on a CD to learn more about it.
