Defeat Me - Yeah, what a couple of nerds! Me and Ryan Schneider became friends when I moved to Virginia in the 8th grade. He was big into early 90s rock and pretty much turned me on to new music (before then I listened to oldies cuz that's what my parents listened to.) Ryan played guitar and knew I played drums so he decided it'd be cool if we started a band. We needed a name so I went to the book on the Holocaust we were reading in class, randomly turned to a page, and randomly put my finger down. The words beneath were "Defeat Me." Ryan was just starting to write music, and the band spurred me onto writing my first song, which i called ...drum roll... "Defeat Me." We never really played anywhere, we just practiced a bunch of times, but Defeat Me remains my first band and my first song!
